JOINT RECYCLING COMMITTEE
April 21, 2010
A special meeting of the Joint Recycling Committee was called to order at 4:00 p.m. at the Albany Recycle Center, Albany WI by Chairperson John Grochola. Members present were: Grochola, Peggy Boeck, Rod Sutherland, David Dowden [Ex-Offico], and Fred Baertschi. Also in attendance were Irv Klapper and Jon Runaas.
Proof of posting was verified.
OPERATIONAL:
a) Concrete:
a.
b. Jon and Irv measured; total yards is estimated at 42 [24 yards for the extension from last year’s update to the gate and 18 yards for the 2nd piece measuring 24’ x 28’].
c. Irv’s quote was $1,960 for labor.
d. As we did last year, clearing off the area will be the responsibility of the village & township.
e. Based on location of concrete, we will need to close the Recycle Center for 7 to 10 days.
f. The dumpsters will need to be relocated to other end while concrete cures; Irv was ok with car traffic on lot after 7 to 10 days but we will need to wait 21 days before trucks can use it.
g. Motion by Boeck, seconded by Sutherland, to proceed forward with this concrete upgrade for 2010 at a cost not to exceed $7,200. Carried.
b) Hours of Operation:
a. Discuss the need to standardize hours and extend so people working can get to the recycle center. Increase our cost for labor 2 hours per week, 104 hours annually.
b. Motion by Sutherland, seconded by Boeck, to standardize hours of operation on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Carried.

ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Boeck, seconded by Sutherland, to adjourn. Carried.
