STREET AND UTILITY COMMITTEE
April 5, 2010
The regular meeting of the Street and Utility Committee was called to order by Chairperson Rodney Sutherland at 6:30 p.m. at the Albany Village Hall, 206 North Water Street, Albany, WI. Members present were: Sutherland, Wayne Stemple, Jim Mauerman, Eileen Althaus, Larry Hanson and Jon Runaas, Ex-Officio. Absent was: John Grochola. Also present: Lonnie Gill and Tim Astfalk of Mead and Hunt.
Proof of posting was verified.
MINUTES: Motion by Stemple, seconded by Althaus, to approve the minutes of the last meeting as printed. Carried.
REVIEW 2010 STREET REPAIR PROJECTS/COSTS: The 2010 street repair projects were reviewed and it was decided to have contracts made up for the work to be done on Summit and Union Streets as well as the slurry work on South Water Street. The material to be used for South Water Street is 6,470 yards at $2.00/yard and will cost approximately $12,940. These items were tabled until the contracts are available.
Motion by Wayne, seconded by Mauerman, to accept crack sealing bid proposal by Bartelt Enterprises, Inc. for South Water Street and Fourth Street (East from Cincinnati Street and Corner of Main and East) with a total cost of $1,143.00. Carried.
REVIEW STORM WATER PROPOSAL FROM VILLAGE ENGINEER: Astfalk reviewed the storm water proposal and was tabled for another meeting.
STATUS OF SEWER REVIEW BY VILLAGE ENGINEER: Astfalk discussed the status of the sewer review and suggested we send a letter supporting the variances for small community plants.
ANNOUNCEMENTS & FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Nothing.
ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Stemple, seconded by Mauerman, to adjourn. Carried.
