BUILDING, GROUNDS AND CEMETERY COMMITTEE
January 10, 2012
The regular meeting of the Building, Grounds and Cemetery Committee was called to order by Chairperson Peggy Boeck, at 6:35 p.m. at the Albany Village Hall, 206 North Water Street, Albany, WI. Members present were: Boeck, Virginia Detra, Kim Blumer and Bob Atkinson. Also Present was: Jon Runaas.
Proof of posting was verified.
MINUTES: Motion by Detra, seconded by Blumer, to approve the minutes of the last meeting as printed. Carried.
CEMETERY MOWING: Runaas reported that it would cost the Village approximately $340-360 per mowing for a Village employee to do. Atkinson would like to send out for bids. Runaas will take care of getting bids and have that information by the next meeting.
DOORS & OPENERS: Doors and openers were approved by the budget, so long as it stays within the budget. Runaas will get proposals for shop door opener and handicap door for the Village Hall. Motion by Detra, seconded by Blumer, to open bids on February 12, 2012. Carried.
VACANT COMMITTEE SEAT: Atkinson will talk to Phil Jones and Britt Hall to get their thoughts about joining this committee.
ANNOUNCEMENT AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Atkinson asked about the flag and why it was not flying Runaas explained to him that the light was not working so the flag will be hung accordingly for special occasions.
Runaas stated new smoke detectors for the entire Village Hall and Police Department were approximately $40 each. They have not been replaced since the building was re-done. This is maintenance.
The cost of spraying the cemetery and a steel door for the Village Hall will be discussed at a later date.
ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Detra, seconded by Blumer, to adjourn the meeting. Carried.
