PARK COMMISSION
July 19, 2010
The regular meeting of the Park Commission was called to order at 6:36 p.m. in the Albany Village Hall by Chairperson Wayne Stemple. Members present were: Stemple, Rod Sutherland, John Briggs, Jim Mauerman, Larry Ommodt, and Mark Reidel. Also present was: Jon Runaas, Gary Armitage and Cindy Mauerman.
Proof of posting was verified.
MINUTES: Motion by Briggs, seconded by Ommodt, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Carried.
PUBLIC APPEARANCES: None.
BALLPARK CARETAKER: Armitage gave us an update on what he has been doing to improve the ballpark and the main park. We are all very impressed with the changes that have been made. We thanked him for his hard work and dedication.
SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAM UPDATE/ISSUES: Cindy Mauerman was present to provide us with the status of the recreation program. We talked about the issues surrounding the t-ball program. The outstanding cost of the t-shirts has been picked up by the Village, but she will check into what can be done to recoup the cost. We will be taking this subject up, along with the K4 issue, at a later date.
CONCESSION UPDATE/ISSUES: The concessionaire was invited to the meeting, but unable to attend. We did discuss issues and any progress that may have been made since they arose. We may also review the contract language to see if we can improve it to better define items and prevent issues.
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: The parking issue(s) at Bowman Park were discussed and what things have been put in place to attempt to address them. We are very concerned over this as it is getting out of control.
A broken part on the playground equipment was mentioned, Runaas is attempting to get the company to respond to him and then send the part.
ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Briggs, seconded by Ommodt, to adjourn. Carried.
