STREET AND UTILITY COMMITTEE
July 6, 2010
The regular meeting of the Street and Utility Committee was called to order by Chairperson Rodney Sutherland at 6:30 p.m. at the Albany Village Hall, 206 North Water Street, Albany, WI. Members present were: Sutherland, John Grochola, Eileen Althaus, Jim Mauerman, Larry Hanson, Ex-Officio, Jon Runaas, Ex-Officio and Tim Astfalk of Mead & Hunt. Absent: Wayne Stemple.
Proof of posting was verified.
MINUTES: Motion by Althaus, seconded by Mauerman, to approve the minutes of the last meeting as printed. Carried.
PUBLIC HEARING: Along with the committee members, there were three citizens that were in attendance for the public hearing. Tim Astfalk gave some information on the facilities plan for upgrades to the Albany wastewater collection system and wastewater treatment facility.
RECCOMENDATIONS FROM PUBLIC HEARING: Motion by Grochola, seconded by Sutherland, to go with proposal “A” for an amount of $649,040 to cover the pond and using slip lining to repair the sanitary sewer system. Carried.
TEMPORARY STREET CLOSING/SOUTH SUMMIT STREET: Motion by Sutherland, seconded by Grochola, to temporarily close South Summit Street for an auction at Gary Armitage’s residence. Carried.
UPDATE ON STREET SCHEDULE: The work on Summit Street and Union Street will begin in mid August and take approximately three to five days to complete.
PROPOSAL FOR STREET LIGHTS ON BRIDGE: Tabled.
NORTH WATER STREET LIGHT ISSUE: Tabled.
ANNOUNCEMENTS & FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Nothing.
ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Sutherland, seconded by Grochola, to adjourn. Carried.
