PARK COMMISSION
March 15, 2010
The regular meeting of the Park Commission was called to order at 6:37 p.m. in the Albany Village Hall by Chairperson Wayne Stemple. Members present were: Stemple, Rod Sutherland, John Briggs, Jim Mauerman, and Larry Ommodt. Absent was: Mark Reidel. Also present were: Catherine Blakemore, Justin Mueller and Gary Armitage.
Proof of posting was verified.
MINUTES: Motion by Sutherland, seconded by Briggs, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Carried.
PUBLIC APPEARANCES: Catherine Blakemore was present to speak to us concerning plans to place plantings at the shelter in Bowman Park by the Chamber. The plans were well received and we expressed concerns with possible damage to them. She stated that this was already understood and that we will see how it goes.
Gary Armitage was also present to meet us and ask us about some maintenance concerns with the ballpark. There are some repairs that are needed and a fresh coat of paint to help brighten things up. We told him that maintenance items are always things that we need to take care of and they should be corrected. He also had some ideas about changing the paint scheme. This will be discussed at a future meeting.
PROCEDURE DISCUSSION WITH CONCESSIONAIRE: Discussion with Mueller and thanking him for serving last year and that things went well. Sales and profits were up from the prior year. We also pointed out a couple of items that either need attention or improvement that he may not be aware of.
CONCESSION EQUIPMENT: Keepers supplied us with information about equipment that was reported as missing from the ballpark. It has not been confirmed that it is missing or just stored somewhere that we are unaware of. Until this is resolved, no action will be taken.
SPRING WORK DAY: Stemple shared that a school group would be doing spring clean-up work. He suggested that we wait until we see what has been taken care of and then plan to address what may remain.
PICNIC TABLE AT DAM: The committee is still awaiting information on the cost of the table before any action is taken.

ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Stemple, seconded by Briggs, to adjourn. Carried.
