JOINT RECYCLING COMMITTEE
November 15, 2010
The regular meeting of the Joint Recycling Committee was called to order at 5:45pn in the Albany Village Hall, 205 North Water Street, Albany WI by Acting Chairperson Peggy Boeck. Members present were: Boeck, David Dowden [Ex-Offico], Fred Baertschi, and Rod Sutherland. Absent: Keith Hobson.
Proof of posting was verified.
MINUTES: Motion by Sutherland, seconded by Baertschi, to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as printed. Carried.
SLUDGE OIL: This has been taken care of.
ANNOUNCEMENT AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: Dowden will keep the committee involved; starting with the following updates:
• Green Valley has been sold to Veolia out of Milwaukee.
• Monroe’s garbage is being taken to South Delavan.
• As of the first of the year, the tipping fee will be going up $2 per ton, which will possibly be forwarded to Madison. The rate per ton is $29.50. Dowden attends the Green County Landfill meetings which are the second Thursday of the month; he will bring back more solid information on the fees after the next meeting on December 9.
• Some concerns about what to do with people bringing down electronics. The committee will ask Jon Runaas to look into a platform scale and the possibility of charging everyone $0.25 per pound.
There will be no Joint Recycling Meeting in December.
ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Baertschi, seconded by Sutherland, to adjourn. Carried.
