PARK COMMISSION
November 16, 2009
The regular meeting of the Park Commission was called to order at 6:35 p.m. by Chairperson Wayne Stemple. Members present were: Stemple, John Briggs, Jim Mauerman, Mark Riedel, and Rod Sutherland. Absent: Larry Ommodt.
Proof of posting was verified.
MINUTES: Motion by Briggs, seconded by Mauerman to approve the minutes of the previous meeting as printed. Carried.
There were no public appearances.
SUMMER HELP: Discussed issues with past summer help and saw nothing standing in the way of our asking if they would like to return. Motion by Riedel, seconded by Stemple to ask all of the 2009 summer employees if they would like to return in 2010. Carried.
PARK FEE INCREASES: Stemple explained that the Police Committee was looking to raise some of the fees in the parks. No one had any objection to the new amounts. Motion by Stemple, seconded by Sutherland to support the decision to raise the fees as suggested by the Police Committee. Briggs abstained. Motion carried.
CONCESSIONAIRE CONTRACT: Each member had received a copy of the contract for the concessionaire position. We discussed some of the possible changes to improve the wording to address some concerns. We will take up the discussion and take action at a future meeting.
FUTURE ITEMS: Members expressed concern on the condition of restrooms at the ballpark and would like to have Runaas check on them. The possible relocation of the storage shed at the Legion Park is still being worked out with the Legion. Mauerman will talk to them at their next meeting, since he is a member. Sutherland asked that we think about what type of table we should place at the dam.
ADJOURN: Motion by Briggs, seconded by Stemple to adjourn. Carried.
