STREET AND UTILITY COMMITTEE
September 7, 2010
The regular meeting of the Street and Utility Committee was called to order by Chairperson Rodney Sutherland at 6:30 p.m. at the Albany Village Hall, 206 North Water Street, Albany, WI. Members present were: Sutherland, John Grochola, Wayne Stemple, Eileen Althaus, Jim Mauerman, Larry Hanson, Ex-Officio and Jon Runaas, Ex-Officio. Also present: Lonnie Gill.
Proof of posting was verified.
MINUTES: Motion by Grochola, seconded by Stemple, to approve the minutes of the last meeting as printed. Carried.
SAFETY CONTRACT: The safety contract came in at $1200, $1230 and $1270 for a term of three years. Motion by Stemple, seconded by Grochola, to accept contract. Carried.
WELL REPAIR PROPOSAL: The bids for Well #2 for the maintenance work came in at $11,310 from Layne Northwest; $10,991 from Olsen Well & Pump; and $9,056 from CTW. Motion by Stemple, seconded by Mauerman, to accept bid from CTW. Carried.
The bids for Well #1 inspection came in at $8,711 from Olsen Well & Pump; and $5,075 from CTW. Motion by Stemple, seconded by Mauerman, to accept bid from CTW, which will be billed in 2011. Carried.
STREET PROJECT UPDATE: Runaas gave an update on the street project on Summit and Union Street.
FUTURE STREET PROJECTS: No discussion.
SCADA UPGRADE PROPOSAL/ESTIMATE: Some discussion then tabled until facilities plan is approved by the DNR.
NEW TIRES BACK HOE (REARS): The tires are $353 each plus installation fee. Motion by Grochola, seconded by Stemple, to purchase tires. Carried.
UPDATE ON FACILITY PLAN: Waiting for more information.
BRIDGE LIGHTS: Will follow up with an update once more information is received.
REGIONAL UTILITY CLERK TRAINING – BREWER/SEPTEMBER 9, 2010: Motion by Stemple, seconded by Mauerman, to send Brewer to the Utility Clerk Training in Dodgeville at a cost of $85. Carried.
2011 BUDGET: Motion by Stemple, seconded by Althaus, to recommend the budget to the finance committee. Carried.
Motion by Stemple, seconded by Sutherland, to recommend to carry over any unused funds from 2010. Carried.
ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Sutherland, seconded by Grochola, to adjourn. Carried.
